He is the founder and director of Sources of Strength. He was also the director of the North Dakota Tribal-Rural Mentoring Partnership, identified as a best practices project and highlighted by the Department of Education as a case study model program. He is a consultant for the National Native American Mentoring Project and a frequent speaker at national conferences on youth and young adult suicide prevention, promoting wellness based connection models. What Helps Mark is spending on the Missouri River with his wife and hunting and fishing with his dog Bella. He also oversees the day to day operations of the organization and tells a lot of jokes. Scott lives in Lakewood, CO with his wife and 3 adorable children. Scott's go to strength is engaging in healthy activities by getting outdoors and his favorite hobby is growing facial hair at an incredible rate. Dan AdamsDirector of TrainingDan AdamsDirector of Training dan@sourcesofstrength.org 720.557.5506While finishing his Masters degree in Religious Studies at the University of Cape Town, Dan worked with youth at Rondebosch United Church, helped to create and run a program for awaiting trial juveniles at Pollsmoor Prison, played bass guitar in a folk band, and drank copious amounts of black tea. Since joining Sources of Strength in 2014, he spends time on and off the road training and supporting communities and schools, dabbling as our amateur tech geek, and managing our staff of National Trainers. When feeling anxious or stressed he seeks the sanctuary of Colorado's mountains and forests, plays or listens to music, and reads a book or six. She is a National Trainer for Sources, where she still can't believe she could get paid to play games, learn, and laugh with awesome people. Her healthy activities include playing games, exploring linguistics, and experiencing carbohydrates. Prior to Sources, Kristen spent the last few years guiding for a wilderness therapy company, where she led backpacking trips, coached teens in survival and therapeutic skills, and had a ton of fun living outside She loves to fill her own cup by playing outside, relaxing on her porch with a book, petting dogs, and trying to finish her latest projects. What helps her most? With this, her goal was to work in suicide prevention, which wonderfully landed her at the one and only, Sources of Strength. Here, Oliva coordinates our inventory and shipping systems and provides administrative support to our Denver office. When not in the office, her 115 pound Alaskan Malamute, Mowgli, will always be found by my her side. Olivia enjoys taking him on runs (even though at times he is the one running her), spending time with family and friends, and enjoying the outdoors. He joined Sources as a National Trainer after living in Washington, DC for nearly a decade as a retail management professional and fierce LGBTQ+ community non-profit advocate. Timmy is an avid flosser and, when not in the gym, can be often be found listening to showtunes. (Well, he’s also listening to showtunes when he’s in the gym…) What helps Timmy when he’s dealing with anxiety, is quality time with his loved ones or a solid HIIT class.Robyn WeinerNational TrainerRobyn WeinerNational Trainer robyn@sourcesofstrength.org (610) 804-0377Robyn joined Sources of Strength as a National Trainer after serving as a middle school English teacher on the Navajo Nation. She grew up in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia and then studied something she doesn’t really use at the University of Pittsburgh. Previously, she served as a full-time mentor at a middle school and then worked in development for an education-focused non-profit in Dallas, Texas. She gets strength from positive friendships and what helps her most is experiencing new things, being around most any four-legged creature and spending time in nature (preferably hot, dusty locations).
