At Sources of Strength, we believe in youth voice, not as a box to check, but as a driving force behind real change.
That’s why each year, we invite a group of high school Peer Leaders from across the country to join our Peer Leader Advisory Council (PLAC). This national group meets throughout the year to help guide our work, offer feedback, co-create campaigns, and keep the heartbeat of the movement grounded in what’s real for young people.
Who We’re Looking For
We want passionate, creative, and compassionate high school and college students who are ready to:
- ✅ Share ideas to strengthen the movement
- ✅ Offer feedback on programs and campaigns
- ✅ Help shape national messaging around Hope, Help, and Strength
- ✅ Build connections with Peer Leaders from around the country
- ✅ Raise the bar on what youth leadership can look like
We’re especially eager to hear from students in all kinds of communities- big cities, small towns, rural areas, reservations, and everywhere in between. If you’re a Peer Leader in the U.S. or Canada, your perspective matters here.
Whether you’ve been part of the program for years or are just getting started, if you care about creating a culture of support and belonging, we’d love to hear from you.
Why It Matters
Sources of Strength is youth-led by design. And we mean that.
The Peer Leader Advisory Council plays a critical role in making sure this work stays relevant, inclusive, and true to its roots. Council members weigh in on new materials, help dream up campaigns, and offer honest feedback that shapes the future of our programs.
We know that powerful ideas and perspectives come from all corners of the movement. That’s why we’re committed to building a council that reflects the range of voices, experiences, and communities that make Sources of Strength what it is.
This is about more than having a seat at the table. It’s about co-creating the table itself.
How to Apply
Applications are open now through September 19, 2025. High school and college Peer Leaders are eligible to apply.
