Sources of Strength Institute
Cultivating the conditions for a well world.
Sources of Strength has spent more than 25 years helping young people and adults build the relationships, skills, and sources of strength that protect health long before a crisis.
The Institute exists to make more of that work possible, especially where public funding and program budgets leave important gaps in access, quality, research, and long-term sustainability.
WHAT PHILANTHROPY MAKES POSSIBLE
The Institute funds critical work.
Sources of Strength already has a national implementation platform. The Institute creates a charitable home for work that public grants, school budgets, contracts, and earned program revenue do not reliably carry on their own.
Access & equity
Reduce cost barriers for communities ready for the work but without the discretionary funding to sustain it.
Quality, evidence & innovation
Fund coaching, fidelity supports, evaluation, data, R&D, and responsible development of newer applications.
Field building
Develop practitioners, share learning, support research, and help make upstream, strength-based prevention more common across public health.
A practical philanthropic structure
The Sources of Strength Institute is a fiscally sponsored charitable initiative of Trailhead Institute. Trailhead provides nonprofit fiduciary and financial oversight, while the initiative draws on Sources of Strength staff, systems, and implementation capacity. The result is a way to direct charitable investment toward access and impact without building a duplicating administrative infrastructure.

COMMUNITIES
access + quality
Near term, the priority is simple: expand access while protecting quality.
That means supporting implementation, strengthening the people and tools that sustain fidelity, and keeping research and learning close to practice as the work grows.
PARTNER WITH THE INSTITUTE
Help move prevention upstream.
We invite foundations, family offices, and philanthropic partners to invest in access, quality, evidence, and field building. Flexible and multi-year support is especially useful because it allows the Institute to respond where the opportunity for impact is greatest.
